Enhance the Dynamic Drive of Your Transbus Dennis

We make anti-roll bar bushes for a wide range of Bus Chassis: -Volvo B6 and B10, Scania 113, Leyland National and Tiger, Bedford y series, Metrorider and Mercedes, to name a few. Transbus Dennis fit our products to their Trident range of chassis.

The two main reasons why they're popular with operators are:-

  • Firstly, they reduce wear-
  • Secondly they cut down on the knocks and thumps that result from having worn bushes fitted.
Wear happens because abrasive dirt particles get into the smallest of gaps between the rubber bush and metal bar, which in turn wears away at the expensive roll bar itself. Polybush ensure every one of their bushes is slightly undersize, so that they are a tight fit to both new and also slightly worn bars, which makes sure that dirt particles cannot get in.

Rubber bushes encourage the process of wear for 2 reasons, firstly when compressed the rubbers used don't spring back to shape quickly enough, leaving gaps for dirt.

Secondly, they lose their suppleness over time due to atmospheric weathering. Contamination by oil or fuel also hastens the process. Polyurethane is naturally more springy and doesn't perish, it's also stronger and harder to compress.

Dennis: Polybush Spring Cushion Bushes last 3 times longer

Given that these bushes locate both front and rear axles, any wear can show itself up in vague steering, reduced grip and traction, more wear to tyres and shock absorbers. Besides which, changing a set of these bushes is a difficult and costly operation. With speed bumps being an increasingly common feature of modern bus routes, many operators are finding shortcomings with their rubber cushions, which need replacinq within 12 months.

Polybushes, on the other hand, are tailor made to reduce wear. In this case, it is the material which matters and our polyurethane has benefits which suit their application very well. Firstly it absorbs shock, and vibration. Operators with over three years experience with Polybush confirm that it doesn't transfer wear into other components. After all there's no point in fitting a better bush if other items wear out.

Secondly- it wears better. Being tough and elastic, it moves with the spring rather than rubbing against it. Add dirt particles to that equation and you really do have wear!
