These bushes are ideal for drivers who enjoy a more engaging driving experience while still needing a level of comfort for daily use, whilst also being suitable for spirited driving & light track use.
Performance grade bushes are the stiffest of the three, designed for enthusiasts who demand the utmost in handling and control. They offer minimal deflection, enhancing vehicle response and stability during aggressive driving. These bushes are perfect for high-performance or track vehicles where precision and handling are critical. While they might sacrifice some ride comfort, they deliver superior driving dynamics and control, ideal for those who push their vehicle to its limits – Including Towing!

The RN90 is the odd one out in the fifth generation Hilux line up, a two wheel drive variant built between 1988 and 1997 that Toyota specified differently enough to deserve its own listing. Anyone hunting Toyota Hilux bushes for one quickly discovers that generic Mk5 parts lists are not reliable here, which is exactly why this page exists.
What the RN90 shares with the rest of the Mk5 is the leaf sprung layout and everything that follows from it. The spring eye bushes locate the axle, the shackle lets the spring extend as it flattens, and the upper shackle bush controls how much the whole assembly can move sideways. When those three go, a Hilux Mk5 develops the classic combination of a clonk on take up, a wandering rear end, and steering that never quite settles.
