If you own a Jaguar XJ X351, you’ll already know that it isn’t exactly a small or lightweight car. It is a proper Jaguar super saloon: refined, powerful, comfortable and deceptively capable when the road starts to get interesting.
That makes the condition of the suspension bushes particularly important.
The latest addition to the Polybush range, 31BL, has been developed specifically for the front suspension arm inner position on rear-wheel-drive Jaguar XJ X351 models. More importantly, it gives XJ owners an aftermarket alternative to buying the original Jaguar bushes.
Polybush 31BL is currently the only aftermarket polyurethane option for this application, giving owners a direct replacement for the original rubber bush without having to rely solely on an OEM replacement.
The Jaguar XJ X351 was produced from 2010 to 2019 and remains one of the most interesting modern Jaguar saloons.
It combines a large luxury saloon body with sophisticated suspension and, in rear-wheel-drive form, the sort of chassis balance that makes the XJ far more enjoyable to drive than its size might suggest.
But as these cars get older, the original rubber suspension bushes inevitably start to deteriorate.

31BL uses our Dynamic Black 75 Shore A polyurethane formulation, making it slightly softer than the popular 31BD.

Because the XJ doesn’t need to feel like a race car.
It needs to remain an XJ.
The aim with 31BL is to reduce unwanted movement in the suspension and restore steering and suspension control, while retaining the refinement and comfort that make the XJ such an excellent long-distance car.
It’s an upgrade in control without unnecessarily sacrificing the character of the car.

Suspension bushes have a fairly thankless job.
They’re expected to allow the suspension to move through its intended range while controlling unwanted movement between components. They also have to cope with everything the road can throw at a car.

Of course, worn suspension bushes aren’t the only possible cause of these symptoms, so the suspension should always be inspected properly before replacing components.
